This course serves as an introductory training class for administrative users of the University's student information system. General content will aid trainees in gaining an understanding of the transition from Florida State University's (FSU) current homegrown legacy system to the new myFSU Student Central system. Topics include an overview of the scope and timing of the project; data conversion; discussion of the implications of rolling releases, including the use of temporary interfaces to keep data in sync; how to navigate and search; basics of the student center; how person information and academic information are stored and maintained; new privacy settings; how academic programs and organizations are represented; the process of requesting access for systems and data; the new attribute of “student group” and its uses; the "3C's" function and training and support resources.
